Default Update on Lil Deuce

A rep from Auto Zone called me he had visited the store I brought the lug nuts from and Shaheens to see the car. Seams the SKU # of the one I was sold and the Ones that I needed 1 one digit off.

He told me that sales person "did not do it on purpose" I replied well I should hope not because that could have been manslaughter

He told me to submit a complete estimate to get the Deuce back to show condition
Shaheen's is doing this now.

Work has started on the Deuce they put on new studs all the way around.
Rotor will be burnished out and appears to be sound.
No undercarriage damage other than the side ground effect needs to be replaced; after the shop she will be taken to the paint shop and painted by an understudy of the late Gary Glenn now a Shaheen paint shop employee.

I will not cancel my Hagerty claim until I get a written commitment to pay from auto Zone.

Hagerty will only pay for the body damage and not the stud replacement if they had to pay.

In talking to the rep who said "Auto Zone wants to do anything to make this right" I feel 80% sure that Auto Zone will pay 100% but again I want it in writing.

I told him I had a lot of car buds watching how this turned out.

Tadd:
It all sounds well and good... I'm Happy to hear theres progress being made... Like you said ..its now a wait and see if they actually come thru for you... Hopeing and praying it gets handled properly and repaired to your satisfaction back to show condition!

Lets also hope the Gary's understudy can match his skills so as to it doesn't look like an almost match.
Got my fingers crossed it comes out to perfection again!

Hangin' in their for you and the Lil Deuce.
I have faith if you have a higher manager or corporate AutoZone guy saying they want to make things right, then they will do their best to put a smile back on your face. They have a vested interest in the outcome of this.

Is the dealer replacing or repairing the fender?

Don't know but in looking at the fender it is actually ripped
IMO would be cheaper to replace than the labor to try and fix it

Glad to hear progress is being made and auto zone is cooperating! Hope they follow through and pay 100% of the repair!

So did you personally walk under the car and give it your once over? Cool you told them there are other car club members watching to see how this washes out...
