somewhere close to it, and i'm not sure how ether. last the car was really driven my dad had it out on the highway commuting to work for a week, my fuel guage dosin't work so i fill it up about every 250 miles. he told me it took just over 8 gallons when he put fuel in it the last two times that week. i think i noticed the biggest gain in mileage when i hollowed the cat, and replaced the bad O2 sensor.
Takes me roughly 11 gallons to do 250 miles. But if you're doing 250 miles/8 gallons thats amazing fuel economy, 31 mpg. I'm quite jealous I need to check my air filter again, that was an issue when i got the car but i really dont know what else to get. High flo cat maybe?

I get 25 with my monte and thats 14.5 gallons to fill usually, and mines the 3800.. hmm.

Well, everything is sunny here in the Mittin, but I guess an inch of ice is on its way to our county and the surrounding ones... Put all the blankets on my horses, they would rather stand outside in the bad weather then go in the barn.. strange animals. lol

Hope everyone is having a great week so far!

Angie- NICE dipsticks!!! Lookin' real sharp and clean!

gotta remember too though, my dad does a LOT of highway driving when he has the car ( 40+ miles on the highway one way) so i'm sure that helped the MPG's quite a bit. back when i ran the car alot i seem to remember it getting closer to 25-26 MPG, driving alot of backroads & through town. still beats the truck, which get's 20 no matter what i do, lol.

Technically a dirty air filter would give you better gas mileage. Less air would get through, so the car reads less air, so it should dump less fuel.

This is given that you are not over-compensating with the gas pedal.

Hi Mod `Mike, Are you sure ? It's not the way that I was taught. I believe that a clean air filter will give you better
MPG's.

Is Dr Google's wrong ? ? Many sources say a dirty air filter will give less MPG's...This should be a fun debate ?

That's what i would think. When i got the car the air filter was a disaster and mpg was bad. New filter solved that. Ugh we have a winter storm coming and my store is jammed and I've been asked to work later. Downing a can of nos to keep me goin
