Default tires or what?

I did a burn out today. It burned rubber all the way through first gear, shifted burned all the way through second, then shifted and I finally got traction in third. traction control was off and I was on dry pavement. Is that normal for a stock 04 sc ss or do I just have really bad tires? Left a big nice long trail also.

Ps I thought the tranny would drop out when it shifted, jolted the car thought it was done. Second started screeching so kept foot in gas and third was a lot easier feeling shift.

You probably have tires made with a hard rubber compound. They're excellent for burn out competitions, but leave a lot to be desired as far as traction goes. Using hard rubber tires in the burn out competitions was one of the 'tricks' we used to use when we wanted to put on a blinding smoke show.

I'd be surprised if you really did get all the way through second, what kind of tires do you have one there? It could be a mixture of bad tires and pavement.

I agree with mousehouse, trans problems are in your near future lol

LOL I know. I have some tires I have never heard of and the tread is a bit on the low side. Probably less then a quarter inch left on tread. Was a sic cloud of smoke tho.
