It sounded like that Rustang had to be heavily modded to beat that Monte.

 

Okay, well the fact that the 'stang only won by a bumper's worth is pretty impressive as far as I'm concerned.

The 'stang is a 5.0 GT fox body. Which is smaller and lighter than the Monte.
If the Monte is stock, it's a s/c 3.8 litre rated at 240hp (not at the wheels), and has the traction control system governing the car's take off. Plus, like I mentioned, heavier.

Another thing to consider is the drivers. If you notice, the 'stang was spinning his wheels pretty bad at the start of the race. Meaning the 'stang should've won by more than just a bumper.

It wasn't really a fair race, but was still fun to watch.
