What do you think would happen to racing if stuff like this happend in the US?

I remember seeing video of things like that happening in the US. But mostly over 20 years ago. I think that's why tracks in the US (and Canada) are built the way they are now.
I have seen a video recently where someone was doing a dragster burnout on a main street in a small townduring a celebration of some kind. He lost control, and plowed into the crowd. Sorry, I can't remember more details. I'm sure someone here knows the video I'm talking about.
