Somehow this is not the 2011 Monte Carlo I envisioned
LOL `Jon, yes I think they all should be sent to `Space : ) orhis home `Planet

I like'em, but I don't think that I would ever be able to afford one 4-Sure....
Besides your Monte, what's you favorite coupe ?
Yeah, Cadillac has that performance coupe... so does Mercedes Benz and a few other manufacturers. I think that fulfills the market though. Two door cars are pretty much reserved for small sports cars.
My point earlier was when you already have a Camaro and a Corvette as two door performance cars, where is there room for a third? The GM Motto as of late is to streamline the production... where does that really leave room for another 2 door performance car?

I still hope & pray to that the Auto Gods at GM creates another Monte Carlo in our future...It may not be a high performace coupe, but it would be great to have another great affordable Monte Carlo Super SS Touring Coupe...Please bow you head & pray with me

LOLBelow are a few companies that have plans for more coupes:
What do you think of below ? I kinda like it, but I'd have to test drive it first : )
Rendered Speculation: JDM rumormill reports Subaru's FT-86 will get turbo power, AWD
by Damon Lavrinc (RSS feed)

The crew from Japan's BestCar magazine have apparently taken the initial pics of the Toyota FT-86 concept and grafted a unique nose, rear fascia and wheels onto ToMoCo's new sports coupe, and while the result is less-than-fetching, the accompanying report offers a pseudo-confirmation of what's been suspected all along.
According to BestCar's (notoriously unnamed) sources, the Subaru coupe (internally dubbed 216A) will come equipped with all-wheel drive, and a choice of two engines in Japan – the 250-horsepower 2.0-liter EJ20 or the worked over, 300-hp boxer four from the WRX STI. Naturally, the additional kit will result in a substantial price increase over the Toyota version, not to mention a 220-power weight penalty courtesy of its AWD drivetrain.
There's also talk of a slight increase in height, width and wheelbase, but no word on whether the Subaru coupe will make it to U.S. shores. If it does, expect it to arrive sometime after its introduction in Japan in 2011, with a price tag somewhere around the $30,000 mark.

I'm with you on those Corvette based Caddy CTS-V's. IMO, that's how to ugly-up a Corvette, and ruin the lines of it.
Same here. I won't buy a 4 door car - I'd buy a Honda Accord coupe before I'd buy a 4 door. Thankfully I have my eye on a used Challenger RT when I have to replace my 05 in a couple of years.
You're right. I might be able to afford a used V6 Challenger in a few years. As far as imports go, I really like the Altima coupe. You virtually NEVER see them around here, though. I'm not even sure if they still make them.
I won't likely ever wear out the Pace Car, though. I don't drive it enough. I sometimes think I should have bought a "regular" SS, because I probably would drive it more. But then, I'm sure I'd miss the looks my Pace Car gets.

Well I've got 116,000 on my Monte Carlo and my intentions are to get it to 200,000 miles atleast. I believe I can make it as a I do most all of my own work. That'll be 4-5 years I think. By then, life may have plans that require 4 doors :-O
