I would rock a g5 or a cobalt for sure! Or an Impala. They're fun little cars, perhaps a focus because they're so cheap, but that might rack up some repair costs

Lol I'm getting a G5 in my grandmas will which hopefully will be no time soon I'd rather have a grandma than a G5 plus thats ove rmy price range of $4000 to $5000, I'm also suprised by that story Taz, my 03 GT was also a 3400 and I had no problems in 15,000 miles and after having put on 7,000 miles I hit a truck with it and had it rebuilt and still put on 8,000 problem free miles. As another member also asked was that the firs tyear for the 3400s in the gts?

Going back to my previous thoughts about the 3400 in the N-bodies, I think '99 was the first year for that combo. The 3100 was the engine in '94-'98 Grand Ams if my memory serves. With the change in body style at '99 GM wanted to up the performance. The bigger question is.... Was '99 the first year for the 3400 in any GM car. Even though it is based on the 3100 (which I feel is reliable), changes made to it to become a 3400, well, in the first year of that engine could be meaningful.

Basically.... If '99 is the first year of the 3400, taking Taz's problems to heart, stay away from a '99 3400 v6 in any GM might be a better word of caughtion.

Like anything else, do you homework.

Ohh of course not looking to buy anytime soon although I was super tempted by a 98 GT 5 speed, The 99 looks really great but as stated by many before looks dont mean a lot if the rest is in poor shape.

If we are talking about the LA1, and not the F-Body variant, then 1996 was the first year that the engine was used, but it was used in mini-vans.
