Not that I really feel this way. But you have to take that car off of the golden pedestal the car lot has put it on.

Be prepared to make them a reasonable offer, and walk away telling them if they don't like your offer, you'll always be able to find another one exactly like it somewhere else.
With car negotiations, that is pretty much the lessons I was taught. But if you are DEAD SET on the car, willing to pay the ask price, make sure it's 100% what you want!
Good words Taz (and I like the double disclaimer about it's not how YOU feel, just negotiating tactics).

Well, it sucks they did not budge on the price. I know many of us feel it is/was priced a bit on the high side. But at the end of the day, it does NOT matter what we think about this matter, it's about what you think. You feel it fits into your budget and the price was reasonable for you, more poiwer to you.

But here's the fun part. YOU GOT A NEW CAR, YOU GOT A NEW CAR!!!

Congrats man!!

So did you trade the old Monte, keep the old Monte as a "beater", going to sell the old Monte??? There is far more to this story lol!

Again, congrats!

Thanks guys, and yes let the modding begin! I am a little frustrated i had to pay asking price, but its a real clean car. Brand new tires, brand new brakes, fresh oil. Im satisfied and thats what counts. Thanks for the invite on the michigan greet dave I did put money down, $2000, loan rate is a bit poor but i also have no credit being this is my first loan. Old monte is home and im not sure yet if i'm gonna sell or keep it.

Other tid bits, it already has an aftermarket security/remote start system. Works a little funky.. but it works, and then the wheels i'm quite a fan of as well, guess one of the p.o's had some taste in style. I'm the 3rd owner of the car.

Keane,
Congrats on the purchase, always feels good to get a new car. I Don't think it was worth it but used cars keep getting higher and higher.. All that matters here is that you can afford it and are happy. When I bought my 07 for $17900, that was high. Then little over a year later trade in offer was 12K. I didnt budge for the Mustang till they reached $15600 on my trade. That is an exception I know. Sell your old Monte in 6 months and put money on new one with lower interest rate since you will have improved your credit rating...

Keane, the Intimidators got 17" chromed wheels of the same design. But I've heard the chrome had a tendency to peel after a while. Judging by the center cap on the wheels on the car, I'd guess they're off of a Tony Stewart edition. TS wheels got the silver center cap. Dale Jr wheels got the black center cap. Only the center cap is different. The rest of the wheel is the same for both.

Very nice new-to-you car! Congrats.
