Each year, the American Kennel Club registers more than a million purebred dogs of 150 breeds and varieties of dogs. The United Kennel Club registers more than 200 breeds, and worldwide, about 400 breeds are recognized, yet most of the dogs in the world are at least a mixture of two breeds and often a multi-breed combination like the famous 57 varieties of Heinz products.Click below for more infor[:-]http://www.canismajor.com/dog/mixed.html

Not insulting you. Every time I see a bassett hound, I think of these two:
"Flash" & "Dog"

Please don't be offended by the post I left about Spaceman.
He knows I'm only kidding. (right Space? Space?)
Your dog is very cute like most puppies are.
Then they get older and tend to get in to everything. Our dog Herman (RIP buddy) used to eat anything that strayed in the backyard. Toads, tomatoes, cucumbers, squirrels, anything. He took a chunk out of my nephew Rob a few times as well.
So enjoy him while he's still little.

I'm picturing a full grown bassett hound chasing a squirrel.
Not a pretty sight.
(wroof! wroof! wroof!)
I love basset hounds.

Herman & his sister Heidi are Schnauzers.
They would tag team squirrels. One would grab the tail and as the squirrel came around to bite the one, the other dog would grab the squirrel by the head. Good-bye Mr. Squirrel.
I watched them do this more then once.
This looks a lot like Herman.

When I was little my uncle was caretaker for these rich people's property. They had a Dalmation named Jeff that used to knock me any time he saw me and lick my face. I hated it.
In looking back I'm glad Jeff was such a nice friendly dog to be around kids like my sisters, cousins, & I.
