I was able to get my new workhorse today. Of course, her name is "Allis", that's a given!. She's a '67 Allis Chalmers HB-112, all original, with a 48" mowing deck, 42" Simplicity snow blower, 38" roto-tiller, and chains.




She's been sitting for 2 years. We was hoping she would fire, but it wasn't getting any charge, so I'm guessing a battery cable is dirty or bad, as they were dirty, but I didn't have anything to really clean them good. I'll get it to run. It turns over, and it's been in the garage always.

I've had a couple of 60's Cub Cadets and restored them. This girl I'm going to just clean up, and keep her as original as is possible. I know I need at least 2 things: the correct hood, and an owners manual for the tiller. A hydraulic lift would be nice, but I'm not paying $450 for one. And maybe a light kit.

We are closing on a 7 acre farm Monday, and this girl will be used almost daily this next year, although mowing the yard is done with a Simplicity ZT1850 zero turn 50" mower. Snow blowing for the winter, maybe a little tilling this spring, but just pulling things such as wagons and sprayers will be a lot of her new routine.

Think she's up to the task?

Oh yeah! Nice ole tractor. You should get a lot of good use out of her. I wouldn't do a full-on nuts and bolts resto though. I think a mechanical restoration and a little cosmetic touch-ups you should be great.

I'm with Greg. Just restore it mechanically and have fun using it. Otherwise, before you know it, your going to be adding airbags and 26"s on it.

Get it running good and put her to work. She don't need to be pretty just a hard worker

 

 

Nice tracktor Wayne! Definitely do a mechanical resto. But keep the rest as is. Gives it a rat-rod look.

 

Congrats on the buy, i dont have a clue on them; all i know is that's going to come in handy.
