Default My first air compressor?

I guess I am a little behind the times, but I am about to buy my first air compressor. It's a 33 gallon 1.6 HP craftsman that should put out good air. I am getting it for $256 off of $378 because of sales and discount codes. The thing is that they have either a vertical or horizontal model. Anyone have opinions of either. I will post a link to both below.

Vertical:

Horizontal:

I think horizontal will be easier to move, and less likely to tip. Make sure theres a way to drain it though, they get water in them very fast, both vert and horizontal.

My dad was saying the same thing about the tipping factor. I guess I should just listen to the old man sometimes lol.

i have the virtical one it saves alot of room in the garage. the only thing i dont like about it same as the horizantal one. is the umph i am getting the 80 gallon one do to how much i use the air compressor when i am working on one of the cars. it also comes in handy when drying hard to dry spots that like to hold in water when washing the cars. plus if you need some thing better the 80 will do it the 33 gallon one that i have is ben threw alot of abuse from me and does not really want to pump as fast. and the warenty from craftsman is only for two years on air tools and compressors. what i am saying the 33 gallon is a good type expecially the virtical if there is room problems. on top of that you can get an upgraded pump for it.

I have the vertical style from craftsman. I got it when I started my Monte rebuild. I have never tipped mine over and I have moved it several times from the shed to driveway. Ive used mine mainly for body work. It can handle a dual action (DA) sander but the compressor will run alot. On a big job like a whole car its wise to let the compressor take a break and cool down. I always ran mine for around 30 min. and let it cool about 5-10 min. If you see alot of sanding in your future you might want to go bigger. I recently upgraded to a Sanborn 3 cylinder 80 gal. compressor. I got the extended warranty for it so she should be covered for the next five years.
Also, the Craftsman comes with a regulator. Dont forget to pick up a water seperator. I got mine for around 100 bucks but they sell cheaper ones I hear.

Oh yeah! only buy a RUBBER air hose. Them cheap polywhatever hoses kink and break. They also suck to roll up and they tangle easyer then the real rubber hoses.

Amen to that, and make sure you have somewhere clean to roll up or hang the hose.
