Default Monitor or TV ???

Ok I've been shopping for a new pc monitor. This one is 19 inches. I want to double that or bigger.. So WHY couldn't I just buy a TV of that size and use that instead of a Monitor?

You could. Just purchase a TV that has that input capability. I used to use a computer moniter for my xbox and, for the size, the resolution was great. There are televisions now that have the internet integrated right into them. Web TV's.

If you are using a large TV for a monitor, make sure your computer has more than just VGA output.

You can use a TV as a monitor, as long as it has the right connectors. I have a 24" 1080P Samsung TV/ Monitor hooked up to my desk top at home. Makes a great monitor.

It's definitely possible. Just have to make sure your computer has either an HDMI or DVI output and make sure the TV has the same input. VGA isn't recommended for a screen of that size.

Ok. Finally gave up looking at Monitors. Then we were at Costco and here's all kinds of TV's. Make a long story short. I bought a 27 inch Samsung Monitor. OMG! This thing is huge in every way. The brightness The colors are fantastic I could sit in the back of the office and read or play on this thing. WOW! I'm one happy camper. Onely problem is I had to clear a lot of stuff off my desk so it looks nice and clean.. ( for now) No post it notes alll over the screen or pens or note books laying around the desk now. I'll take a picture later and post a picture of my office. While its still clean

I feel like a complete idiot here........I have a 23 inch dell monitor and I've been using it on 100% size and then changed it to 125%. I thought that was a good idea but it's not, why not just change it to 150% and I did tonight, it's not a fact of going blind I just thought if I change it that means I'm getting old and going blind........ That is maybe the case but why sit here and try and read everything very small, instead just make the screen size bigger...... Whatever the case I can see things/read better..........

ps: imagine the possibilities when watching, ummmm...hmmmmm.........

My eye sight is still pretty good. Don't need glasses just yet. I think I just like big screens when it comes to TV's and Monitors. I'm not into playing games on here at all. BUT I play pool jam on my Chevelle site. Only game I ever play on the pc. I got this for the picture quality and how nice & big the pictures are. And the COLORS are fantastic. This pc is about 6 yrs old and the old monitor was about 19 inches. So lets just say the oldman wanted to up greade a bit. Without buying a whole new pc! Just like my TV's I had a 32 then went to a 55. Once that started to act up. I bought this 62 inch. I'd really like to get that 80 inch at Costco. But thats not in the near future. When we go to AZ for the winter months. We take a notebook pc. OMG that screen is so small. Then I have to make somethings bigger say from 100% to 125 %. Then there's the Kindle. With its 3 1/2 x 7 screen. I guess these are just my toys and I like them bigger
