2k after my oil change the low oil light chooses now to come on last time it was after 2.5k i think it might be time to bite the bullet and change all the seals

 

There can be some simple causes for the oil loss. Are you seeing any puddles/drops on the ground?

Best/easiest/cheapest oil leak is a oil pressure switch. About $10 and 5-10 minutes to change, right on the front of the engine.

You should also inspect the "valley" of the LIM gaskets. Sometimes those can seep oil out on the 3100. If the engine has not been cleaned in a while, a good degreasing could be in order.

 

mechanic knows its the rear main seal and oil pan gasket he's told me to bide my time until it was worth doing because it will be costly because the way the car is he'll have to pull the motor to do it
