Nicely played there JC, you managed to safely move your family across this vast country of ours. Yeah!! Guess you will be flying back in May and not driving? LOL

I drove from Utah to Carlisle, Pa. to the GM Nat's June 2014 and then 2 days later turned around and drove back to Utah, ugh. Spent 8 days on the road and I agree, I love my Monte as you love your Minion, but I was so done with it.

It is wonderful your Monte was up to the task, those long droning days, constant rpm. that is a huge challenge for cars as old as what we have. You will have to give it some extra special TLC, that is a great testimony about your Monte's overall mechanical condition. Glad your wifes new car was up to the task as well, she has to be totally stoked.

Wow, I can see why you moved, so many positives there bud. Nice to be able to work where you will feel appreciated, you have so much to offer and at the end of the week it's all about how much you have for a pay check. Bonus you have a much larger home, yard and heck you even scored gold getting a garage as well. Good man, well you have a lot to do still, once you get settled in who knows where the open road will take you now that your on the west coast. The Redwoods are not to terribly far away from you, it's an iconic place in America. They have the massive redwood with a cutout of it where you can drive your car through it, as long as it's not to large. Have done that trip a couple times with the family, but boy the moisture in the air let me know I had arthritis that I never knew I had, ouch. Take care and God Bless, yeah for Mrs. JC and you. Welcome home Mr. Mrs. JC, Welcome home! (TY- Extreme Makeovers end of show catch phrase)

Best part of the trip? Not the Rockies, Not the Badlands, not Mount Rushmore! The best part of the trip was doing 84 mph past a cop in western S. Dakota, and NOT getting Pulled over for it! And getting an average of 28.3 mpg for the whole trip.
It took 103 gallons of gas to so the trip. All according to the Info Center. I'll do the actual math tomorrow.

The first bit of TLC My Minion is getting is a Bath. She's got 3000+ miles of dirt on her that need removing. Then an oil Change. And soon some new Plugs and Wires. I think I'll get her some pretty Yellow Wires! I just filled her up with Super. And her whole top end is coming off one weekend soon.

The sand man is working his magic. Gotta close these tired eyes. Thanks again for following me on this trip! Time to go Night Night!

Good Morning BBMike, and all my MCF Crew.
Got up this morning and went out to get coffee. Not 3 blocks away I came across a Blue MC SS 00 to 04 going in the opposite direction. I saw him give My Minion a good look too.
Here are a couple more pics from the trip.
Hope everyone has a Great Day!!!!!

Hi J.C.,
Enjoyed your cross country journey online 4>Sure!
The Bums & I have always dreamed about exploring the USA & North America by car. We wanted to drive up the east coast & then travel the northern states to the West Coast & return by way of the southern states. It's still on our Dream List (someday ?)...

Wish you a easy move in & settling in your new place. Look 4ward to your update....Thanks for posting/sharing
