location of recharge port ac

Question location of recharge port ac

well with my moms sable its right there and sticks out like a sore thumb. looking at my car its no where to be seen so seeing as it should heat up fairly soon in mass i figure i should have ac that blows cold this summer. i wanna do the recharge myself with a kit

I think i found it theres a black cap just behind my airbox

I am not 100% sure but I think the recharge kit will only fit on the input line.

yeah if I remember corrctly its under the air box. lou is right it will only fit on the input line so you'll know if you have the right one. if its not that one I think the other is right near the compressor under the car.

It is going to be on the suction line. If you locate the compressor there will be two lines. One will be large and the other one small. The small line is your discharge line and it will go directly to the condenser coil in front of the radiator. The larger line is the suction line and it will do to the evaporator which is in the air box. Follow that line and you will find the service port. If your system is empty then you have a leak (usually a stone hit the evaporator). For the system to work properly or at all you need to fix the leak, replace the filter dryer and put the system in a vacuum to remove all moisture from the system before recharging it.

Thanks for the tips, i was thinking about checking the charge on mine since its cool but not ice cold. The system was without a compressor for who knows how many years until i bought the car so i might have a small leak somewhere.
