Cool Lingenfelter Performance Trans Am Concept

i just heard about this

http://www.motorauthority.com/blog/1...ans-am-concept

lingenfelter turned a 2010 camaro into a trans am for the sema show, and i think its my personal favorite variation of that platform to come along. sure, its a little bloby looking, but so is the camaro. at least the T/A NAILS the retro look... and has the preformance to back it up: it has a REAL 455 CI V8 nesteled between the fenders

i like it,
what does everyone else think?

I like them both, but the problem would be the price tag. Back in the day, the Camaros and Firbirds had similar price tags. Think this will be similar to an SS??? Probably a 6 digit price tag! Would they sell some? Probably.
BTW, I think this was posted, but maybe not here, and I know it was in Hot rod a month or 2 ago.
Too bad it's not a PONTIAC!

I like the concept. Its a good recreation of the original. The only problem is that I think the camaro is too big for the goal its trying to accomplish. If they could shave a solid 500lbs off the camaro and make the body panels a little less chunky, I think it would be a hit.

I know it's not based on the original Trans Am and no disrespect to Lingenfelter but for what I'm guessing they are asking for one of those I'd rather have one of these:

The Year One BRE Trans Am-- The Ban III package includes a 515-horse dry-sump LS7 7.0 liter engine, and upgrades include a 605-horse dry-sump LS7, or a monster 8.8 liter (540-inch) Pontiac V8 making over 650 horsepower. A 5-speed manual. Suspension consists of a tubular front subframe, rack-and-pinion steering, and four-link rear with adjustable coil-overs on each corner. Chassis reinforcements include integrated subframe connectors and a four-point roll bar with safety harnesses. Brakes are huge Baer Racing 6-piston calipers with 14-inch two-piece rotors front and rear. The BRE Trans Am offers a level of performance rarely seen in a street-legal vehicle.

And yes I believe this is a 6 digit car.

Whether motivation comes from a leading-edge dry-sump LS7 427 producing 515 or 605 hp, or a monster 650hp 540 Pontiac with a Canton road race oil pan and Accusump system, there will be no quibbling about how much jump the Ban III has. Shaker hood funnels genuine ambient intake air.
