Thank you! It's actually kinda cool that you remembered that about me. I still TRY to check in with others, but I tend to keep failing at it lately, partly b/c my energy levels are so low.

Agreed, to be sure.

But, to say it's difficult to keep the chin up, barely scratches the surface as to how dark & deep & bleak it is looking right now. COBRA (health insurance) ends in a couple months ... & I really do not know what I'm going to do. I'm just ... DONE.

Cort, I don't have any uplifting words for you except this: you're not alone, and lots of us are thinking of you and hoping for the best in your life. I feel like I'm in the same bleak world, since my daughter died last year. All we can do is keep getting out of bed every morning, waiting for something better to come along. I've tried making myself as busy as possible every day - taking care of the house, walking my dog, planting the garden, cleaning the Monte inside and out - in an effort to keep the sad thoughts away. Some days are better than others. Some days have moments of joy. Don't give up....

Cort,

Have you looked into alternatives to your cobra? One never knows what the next day will bring. I have had some bleak days when I was younger a divorce, separation from my daughter, and my dad dying at the same time. There where times I though I'd be better off joining my dad.

I didn't go that route My daughter and I have an excellent relationship now, Ronda is a great soul-mate and I am taking care of my mother, so I am glad I didn't go that route or I would have missed out and also not been there for my mom.
You just got to hang on Cort sometime by your finger nails I know.

I know we have never met...
I too do not do facebook...But apparently, we have some similaritys in life...
14 yrs ago my then wife and I of 10 yrs.. were hit broad side on our Harley by a 19 yr old girl (UNDERAGE) drunk driver...
Which killed my wife instantly! I too Died twice... the second time I woke up in the Morgue with a toe tag!

I spent 6 weeks in a coma..Only to find out my wife was dead, I ended up an amputee (above knee) It took them 2 1/2 yrs just to teach me to walk and talk again... as I also suffered a closed head injury... I tried working for a while after (about 4 yrs) and ended up on disability.. I finally retired in 2004.. To complicate things.. I also Have Rhuematoid Arthritis!

I also remarried in 2004..
I'll be the first to admit, Siting here day in and day out is no easy task when you have physical disabilities...That prevent you from doing normal things! (Like everyone else)...

But I look at life this way...
Today is all we have! (The Present) Thats why its called a gift!

Any day I wake up and my heads above the dirt... Its a Good Day!
