I totally know how you feel though, its really irritating how hard we all work to keep our cars nice, and how little respect some people have for them. jerks!
That's exactly what happened with my car. The paint spider webbed and chipped. Luckily the paint was faded and the car needed a new paint job anyway (previous owner didn't care for the paint very well). But it still ticked me off. I feel the same way as you.

How many jurors are we up to? We need a full jury for this. :p

I love the jury of my peers here

Years ago, my Grand Am was egged with a bunch of other cars. Luckily, it had not lasting effects. But my wife's Grand Am has a spot you can tell was egged before she bought it.

I still can't believe my luck that this kid hit the side wall of the tire.... Unbelievable!

When I first inspected the car, I did shout in that kid's direction "if you're gonna throw crap at cars, have some nerve to face people" (this was after my wife said he came out and then ran back into hiding).

I could only wish, as Cowboy said that I scared him straight, but I doubt it.... But I hope that the amount of times he saw me, that I scared him enough to limit some of his stupid behavior.

I do'nt know what the Canadian law is, Taz, but in America, the jury has to vote a unanimous "guilty" or it is a non-guilty verdict. We only need one car lover. And I'm smart enough to get out of jury duty

I think that was the best thing I heard, just one word "Karma".... At some point, this guy's behavior will come back to haunt him....

I agree with everyone here actually... my old car

*cough* ford contour* cough*

A couple of kids threw a rock and hit my windshield, chipped it. I got home, called the police and they told me to go back out to the area they hit my car at and wait for the officers. When I got there, there were two more vehicles there, one of them had a busted back passenger window ( 96 grand prix gt coupe) their baby was on the other side of the busted window... the police found the two kids, called the mother of one of them and took the kids (both) to juvy...

If I were on your jury, id prolly get thrown out for disorderly conduct because I would attack the parents for trying to charge you for their lack of control over their own kid.lol

A couple years back, my neighbor had a late 80's Park Ave destroyed by some kids early in the morning. They took the paper at the end of his driveway, lit it on fire under the rear of the car. He woke when the tire exploded. His wife called for the Fire department (by the time they arrived, he got the fire out with a garden hose).
Sad part is, he was using this car as a winter beater (and earlier that week finished a LOT prep work on it).
Sadder part - Kids were caught (as they were lighting trash and other stuff on fire). Even though they went to court, them and their family had nothing and he was unable to get any compensation (and the car, due to age/mileage, he had down to liabilty on it).

Again, more stupid kids! I feel they should have been sentenced to do chores for the guy to work off the value of the car..... Something to hold them accountable!

sounds like you've been watching Gran Torino.

my mom's trooper got egged not too long ago, boy was it a pain to get off the paint. people suck.

a guy i work with is also having problems with looser kids where he lives, they keep smashing his mailbox, and they smashed the windows out of his wifes car WHILE IT WAS IN HIS DRIVEWAY!. happened to almost everyone on his street. he called the cops, who told him they had better things to spend their time on, deal with it himself. no problamo. his new mailbox is one of those resin plastic jobs that he filled bottem to top with cement, mounted on a 4x4 into a cement piller 2 feet into the ground love to see it when they try to smash THAT sucker!

I would have gotten a thick metal pipe to house in that concrete (but what he did should achieve the same goal). And to be honest, if these kids are vandlising this much property (his stuff and all the cars around the neighborhood) on a regular basis, I want to know what the cops have to do at this point. That is unexceptable, complete lack of "Serve and Protect".

This guy you know may want to address this in the next city council meeting in his area. Perhaps get a group together that have been affected by this lack luster response to stand with him. Or everyone should let the insurance company know about this (I'm sure they love paying for the same repairs numerous times).
