holy crap.. my fiancee was just telling me that some kid did that to a school bus a few years back before i moved here, killed the driver i beleive... i'll have to hunt down the article...

i get throwing a snow ball, even the egg (not saying i agree with it) but i dont understand how a rock or a brick can be remotely funny...

I beleive that parents should be held 100% liable for stuff like that, i'm sure it would of curved me away from some of the stuff i did growing up..

Sad part, cops that came out and took a report told him "Kids are always dropping stuff from there, we're not going after them". Seriously, I know odds of finding the kids might be tough, but I think some effort should be done. In this case serious damage was caused, but what about the next time when it causes an accident or a death? And if it's that frequent that you can say "all the time", perhaps measures need done to prevent it (fencing/shielding of some kind so people can't drop stuff off the overpass)....
(being said with fingers crossed in hopes it doesn't start up again)

That used to be a huge problem here in southern ontario (canada), and in the state of Michigan. But the powers that be started fencing off the sides of overpasses, completely enclosing footbridges (fence), installing more traffic cameras, and basically getting more community involvement to have people report or chase-off these kids doing this. Unfortunately it took some deaths for things to happen.

I agree with you. But it seems that doesn't have much effect on the kids doing it anymore. The parents and/or cops should be able to discipline those kids properly. And more parents should be properly disciplining their kids when they do something wrong. Part of the problem is our legal system and/or society.

The kids of today's generation know the legal system very well, and how to use it to their advantage. They know all too well how to play the "I'm just a dumb kid -- what do I know -- It's not my fault" card. And our legal system seems to be more than happy to keep treating them like they simply took a cookie out of the cookie jar.

What gets me is how a kid can steal a car....... parent kicks the kid's a$$ for doing it...... kid tells cops his parents beat him....... parent(s) go to jail for child abuse........ kid gets a juvenile record, but laughs at it because now he's got "street cred".

Taz, you really got it right on this one. There is too much "new age" crap that is too soft on discipline. I'm not saying parents need to "beat" their kids, but, things like a "spanking" sometimes have to be dished out (when the kids are young enough that it will have an effect). BUT, these days it's too easily child abuse. Parents also want to pop kids in front of the TV babysitter. Way too much crap....

No, not yet anyway. That area turned into an industrial area when the golf course closed a number of years ago.

Nice!

I really wish we had a track around here. Somewhere where people could go to race each other without having to worry about traffic, cops, etc...

I completely forgot about this old commercial.

Fits perfectly with the original topic of this thread!

It's the Trunk Monkey!
