If I could, I'd love to convert a 2007 SS Monte to RWD. But I know there's a lot more work involved than just the drivetrain. The floor pan/transmission tunnel need to be modified. The exhaust re-routed. Which means the interior needs to be changed or modded to take the new floor pan into account. Etc, etc, etc...

All totalled up, it would cost you more than the car is worth. Which is what makes it only a fantasy. For most people anyway.

Edit: I think this is the reason Chevy made the 06/07 SS Montes FWD instead of RWD. Wasn't worth altering an 8 year old body style. A 2008 RWD Monte would've had to have been a complete redesign.

 

All the domestic full and mid sized sedans like implala, mkz, dts, etc. Those r the real deal non of that fwd crap please

 

If I could convert any car I'd choose a 7th gen Monte for sure

However, I'd leave mine front wheel drive. Why? Because FWD burnouts are awesome

 

Besides a monte I would think it would be fun to have a RWD small car like a cobalt or a Caviler.
