I happen to be an instructor at a vocational school.I recently had a student get a 40% on one test and a 45% on the next test.I wrote him up for a possible failure and he argued that 40% and 45% add up to 85% which is passing. Must be the new method of grading they are used to from high school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

LOL!! hey now thats a good idea...40 and 45 add up to 85..lol

 

So what does this mean for those of us who actually bothered to learn something in school?

A. Are we smarter then these people?
B. Are they smarter then us? (I mean c'mon now. they still graduate)
C. We wasted our time for bothering to get an education?

I've heard of stories where a teacher/professor will pass out a quiz that reads, "Sign your name and pass back in."
Students still go to the troubles of working the problems on the quiz when they could have gotten away without any real work. Cause they didn't bother to read the instructions.

most of those test like that are for fun and they are to see if ya can read the directions and pass.
but yeah i remeber seeing folks that it amazed me they could tie thier shoes let alone graduate.
I have to admit im not a book smart person but i know what i do know most of the time real well. i dont learn from a book.
but even i would have not answerd the questions like they have above LOL

I have to agree people with common sense seem to be smarter thenbook smart people.

I dated a girl who got straight A's on tests but was dumber then a box of rocks out on the street. People like this can "Throw Up" what they learn out of books and look smart but have no common sense when they get in real life situations.

I'm not trying to sound like I'm degrading anyone. But posting my personal experience.
