I was at a car lot to test drive a Camaro, but it needed too much work for the price they were asking. I was walking off when the Monte caught my eye. After test driving it and taking it to a friend's shop for a once over I negotiated a decent trade in value for my Blazer and the purchase price of the Monte. Like Lou, I was doing research about the car and MCF came up in the results. I've been a member since.

my brother in law had a 95 z34 that I liked, they drove it for a while. A month before I turned 17, my first car (1993. Ford escort) had the trans crap out. (My brother forced it into reverse, chipped the gear and the chip made a nice little hole in the case) we gave that car back to my brother, and for my 17th birthday, my brother in law dropped the keys to his monte in front of me... over time, the mod bug hit me, then I totalled it. I always knew id own another one as I loved the first one. So here I am with a 99 z34.
I always did have a liking for montes to begin with, but fell in love when I got my first one

The 6th Gen Montes first caught my eye when I was 13 ridign my bike in town and a blue SS was parked in front of napa and I thought it was the most amazing looking thing ever, then when I was old enough to drive I'd spaced them off, had my 03 grand am gt that I loved but wanted a head turner so traded it off for a '86 Camaro Iroc Z. I was in love with my Iroc until my friend Thomas who was a long time lover of montes and had a '96 green LS with 189k ened up getting a 2000 White ss (which i showed pics of rolled from his gf on here awhile ago), he gave me a ride in it one day and I fell in love with montes so determined to have one I put my iroc for sale, after a year of trying I was offered an 04 Smoke grey LS with 78k but a salvage title, after having it looked at by a pro mechanic i traded the guy straight for my camaro which had a bad motor, then I ended up selling my truck and getting an 05 supercharged SS, then eventually missed my truck and traded my LS for a truck lol

My mom had a black '74 Monte Carlo that my parents bought from a friend of theirs. He had ordered the car new from the factory. My Mom drove that thing silly. She wrecked it twice and my Dad fixed it both times. The second time he cut the quarter panels off and completely restored the car. It was very cool. She had the car until 1995. That's when it finally got to be too far gone. When I ran across my black 2003 it brought back memories from my childhood and I had to buy it (even though the newer ones are completely different).
