I Don't mind if people come here just to ask a question once of a few times a year. That's kinda why we are here. I do hate it when they ask the question and someone doesn't answer immediately and the original poster get mad and starts complaining.

Asking questions is kinda what forums are for. With that said. I do wish people would stick around and join in on the conversations and such. But I understand that sometimes people just don't have time, or don't really want, to hang around a forum (any forum) just for fun. I say it's their loss.

On the other hand, since you guys mentioned how we're being used. I kinda wish they would've bought us dinner first.

Lou, you brought up a very good point also. I've seen so many people ask a question expecting an instant answer. Sometimes in the middle of the night, or on a sunday/holiday. That's kind of the point of the Do It Yourself sections. Those sections are supposed to be like a reference library of How To's for people to look through for step by step answers. But despite the staff's best efforts, those sections always seem to get over run with threads that don't belong in the DIY sections.

Gregg, let's discuss the latest under dash FM radio converters... Or maybe one of those reverb kits?

Kerry I had a few of those FM converters. These kids are probably wondering what the hell is an FM converter. Lol. I never had the reverb kit. They were passé by the time I got into it. My first car was a 67 Fury with an AM radio. Under the dash I had a Pioneer Super Tuner FM cassette deck, under that was a Craig 8-track, under that was a Realistic graphic equalizer/ power booster, and under that was my Cobra Midland 40 Channel CB radio. There wasn't room for anything else. Back in the day it was so cool. At least I thought it was.

I know what you mean Gregg! I actually DID use an under dash FM converter kit in this late '70s Subaru we had when I first started driving in the late '80s. We had it lying around and it beat only having AM. My dad told me about the reverb and I believe they still sold them in JC Whitney in the '80s. Who still bought them then, I'll never know.:p

Honestly what bothers me the most is people who join just to sell something. Or people who use the forum constantly only to sell things, but never actually post anything useful. There are plenty of places to sell things. The classified section should be a privilege for our active members.

Also what also bothers me is what Taz said. People mis-using sections of the forum. They are clearly labeled with what the section is to be used for. The How-to section is not only labeled, but there are announcements at the top of the section describing the procedure for using it. I dont know if people are just that oblivious or are just too lazy to read.

And then there's purposely cross-posting the exact same post in several different forums.

I had heard about the reverb units from back in the 60's. I think they were basically the same as what the kids are putting in their cars now with those big bass speakers. I saw a reverb unit one while stripping a mid sixties Dodge Coronet back in my junk yard days. I had no clue what it was so I asked. I was mounted to the back seat cushion and reverberated the music thru the seats and car sheet metal. (sound familiar)? I had quite a few of the FM converters back in the early eighties. It was a cheap way of getting FM in your car and after my oldest kids were born I had to have cheap. I still remember when listening to AM radio was cool. In Massachusetts I grew up listening to AM WRKO out of Boston. They played top 40 and had the coolest DJ's at the time. Of course this is when CCR, James Taylor, the Beach Boys and the Beatles were still top 40.
