It would just make your 02 Grand Am look even more like a Grand Prix than it already does. Which isn't a bad thing.

I kinda thought the same thing! I know the origin of the Grand Am was to be a lower cost car that is somewhat "Grand Prix-ish", but watered down. And the '99+ Grand Am GT I think have a strong resemblance to the '97-'03 Grand Prixs.

Sigh.... I'll hold out until probably Spring of 2013 to put tires on these rims and make the swap official. But, hey, it's all good (I'm still stunned I scored these, especially walking away from them to come back the next day).

Now, if only I can find a sold factory black passenger side fender!! lol!

That's not a coincidence. Pontiac did that on purpose to boost the Grand Am's sales. Worked too, for a few years. The big downfall was the LIM gasket problem, and the constant problem of the heater/AC fan resistors going bad.

Yeah, the Grand Am was a serious Cash Cow for GM. I think there are more of those in the junk yards I go to then any other car! And it's because they sold way more!

Sadly LIM gasket failures is a common issue at least in all GM's leading V6 lines (back to my '94 Grand Am that had a 3100 in it).

And from what I've seen, the blower resistor is a more common 200ish+ issue. Heck... My '02 Grand Am has that issue right now. I have speeds off, 4 and 5.

Right now I enjoy driving the '02 Grand Am. But I tell people it feels like a Go-Cart to me compared to my old '94 Grand Am and the Monte. But it's a fun little car to drive and cheap to maintain.
