Not trying to out do ya or anything. It took me $45 dollars to fill my tank up from half yesterday. But keep in mind, I have to use premium.

In my opinion, the oil companies are the real thieves!

That's terrible....well people will do what it takes, for instance: Before I joined the forum I had the catalytic converter stolen off from my Monte, thankfully I got the plate and followed the thieves with my loud catalytic converter-less Monte Carlo with the police on the line. $1,000 restitution because that was the quote from the most expensive shop around and he is in jail now. So even though Monte's are low--a theif will do what it takes.
This is exactly why I am flanging both cats on my 76 when I get my new exhaust installed. That way after I pass the sniffer/visual DEQ inspection, I can just unbolt them and bolt in a nice piece of straight pipe.

On the gas thieve note, I bought a locking gas cap for my Monte when gas was getting close to $1.60/gal. I planned ahead. No problems so far. There is a way to get around locking caps, though. You can punch the lock or drive a screw into the cap so the locking portion won't turn rendering it like a non-locking gas cap.

Try buying diesel, LOL -not.Put $90 in the truck last week and didn't even fill it. Oh, and get this, the clerk could not set the pump for $90, it was too much.

There was a place back home that had to get new pumps as his were old manual type deals with the scrolling numbers, had to go inside to pay, everything, they worked just fine, they just wouldn't except anything over $2.99/gal. So while that station was usually 3-4 cents more than others in town it became the cheapest for a few weeks when gas hit $3+ and his was still sitting at $2.99.

And RJ. [sm=icon_rofl.gif]

It used to be $10 to fill my car from empty to full. Now it's $40 to do it.

I'd post what I think of the oil people. But the web site would ****** most of it out. So I'll just keep my mouth shut.

Stealing Gas has been very common in my Home Country for the past 10-15 years. LOL go figure.
I remember my uncle had an old Moskvitch(Russian Car, you can Wiki it). And someone put a hole and drained the gas just like the OP said.
Well instead of fixing it the tank he brought the fuel lines and the fuel pump inside the car and used a 20 Liter Military gas can as his fuel tank. He had mounting brackets for it in the passengers feet area so it doesnt move around all over tha car. He would take the can home when he would park it at night or wouldnt need to drive it for a while. You stink like gas for a few days after you rode with him for an hour.
