Off work early today. Getting ready to go to company Christmas party. Early I know. They give away all kinds of cool stuff, tools, camping gear, fishing suff and lots of money raffles. Wish me luck. I did hit the casino earlier for a $170 cash win. Maybe I am on a roll....

Angie I've gotta agree with Rick. You look really good especially for a grandma. Lol. I have a rather unique perspective on the sixties and seventies, I remember them. With the exception of Vietnam, there was a lot of optimism of how great our country was and the great things we were doing, particularly with the Appollo missions to the moon. I remember watching all of that on TV in school. I was born in 62 so I was too young to get into the wild stuff. The music was awesome. I had a few of those AM transister radios. I thought it was the greatest thing until the battery went dead.
I was a car guy for as long as I can remember and looked forward to September when the new models were rolled out. Every year the cars looked new even though many were just reskinned versions of the previous year. The seventies didn't seem as optimistic as the sixties. It could be because I was aging and began to see some of what was wrong in the world. We had Vietnam to deal with still and the tragedy at the Munich Olympics in 72. We also had the Watergate debacle and then the first OPEC oil embargo. We also had the Bicentennial celebration in 1976 that seemed to remind everyone of how far we had come in 200 years as a country. During the Carter administration we had a recession and the Iran Hostage Crises that didn't get resolved until Reagan took office. The music of the 70's was still great and the newest invention was the 8 track tape that switched tracks in the middle of a song, but it made recorded music portable and lots of cars had them. I still to this day will hear a song on the radio and anticipate the track break from the old tapes. The cars still had style although some of it was controversial. In the 70's we had the Chevy Vega, the Ford Pinto, and the Dodge Aspen, Plymouth Volares that were met with great enthusiasm only to disappoint. Horsepower was scaled back. We also had bell bottom pants, platform shoes and leisure suits and lots of free love due to the availability of birth control. I was still to young to take advantage of that in the 70's. They were much simpler times.

Rick, i have gotten a couple offers to buy it. Alot of people comment on the condition its in and how low the miles are. Most common thing i get is "oh i had one of them years ago, i havent seen one in a long time" I havent heard anything in a long time though sadly, but i havent driven her as much.

Was nice getting comments about it all the time, i should drive it more again. Whats interestign though is only adults apreciate it. Kids and my fellow peers just bash the poor thing. Calling it a rust bucket and a piece of junk. I watched someone slam their door into it too, then a 2nd time "the wind blew the door" What a shame
Funny you mention the woodstock festival, that went on not far from here in Woodstock, NY. Seems like all kinds of stuff goes on around here.
