Filing for workers comp?

I know down here in Louisiana in the different chemical plants that I work in require you to report any incident immediately. That way they can verify that It happened on the job and not in your garage during band practice.

With only 6 employees, he might not be required to have workers comp insurance.

Also so they can immediately drug test

I'm not afraid of drug tests, I don't go near drugs so I'd pass them without even having to worry about it.

If Texas is a right to work state you probably won't be working there long. What you probably have is a thing called tinnitus and it is caused from being exposed to loud noise, usually over an extended period. Workers comp is probably going to blame it on you from listening to loud music which is a common cause. I experience it from time to time due to loud music and not wearing ear protection while operating a bucket loader and car crusher.
