Workers at a Chrysler plant in Michigan have reportedly been caught on video smoking and drinking during lunch breaks.
Just ten months after revealing how some workers at the Chrysler Jefferson North Plant in Detroit spent their lunch hour drinking beer, another investigation by MyFoxDetroit.com found more of the same at Chrysler's Trenton Engine Plant in Trenton, Mich.
At least two workers told the station's investigative reporter they do not want to work with people who have been abusing drugs or alcohol prior to returning to work.

I remember my dad talking about guys drinking right on the assembly line when I was a kid. It was nothing for a guy to have 6 on his lunch break. Maybe that why some of those cars didn't stand the test of time.
Long ago I had a friend that owned a new Gremlin he had a rattle in the door. took off the panel anfd found beer cans stuffed in the door.

I had an employee at a saturn plant tell me that when he got mad at his superviser, he'd throw a couple of screws in the doors, they'd be sent off and sold never knowing what that rattling is.... incidentally, if you own a saturn and the door rattles, you now know what it came from...

Monte's were built in Canada, so the doors are stuffed with back bacon and hockey pucks. We don't put beer bottles in doors, we take the empties back to get our deposit back.

I had a former cousin-in-law the worked for DANA outside of London, where they welded up F150 frames. The employees/ union selfeshly voted to allow seniority to straight days - newer employees (including my cousin) were forced to work straight nights. Big problem was that the employees with less seniority tended to be younger kids with active social lives - and access to crack and meth. He and the whole damn shift turned into a bunch of crack heads. They screwed everything up, quality suffered dramatically and they eventually closed the whole factory. My cousin even lost his house, but that is another story in itself...
