I did not see it but a guy at work chatted about this. I found it funny! But as Chibi said, those old cars have roughly 20 years BEHIND them. A lot has changed. Look at the "super computers" from that era, would you expect those clunkers to run Windows 7? If the answer is "no" cars are really not that much different.
My '84 Camaro, per the sale literature was 190HP on a 305 H.O. v8. Hmmm.... I think my Monte with a v6 is past that.

Ouch! :p
I never realized what a dog the DeLorean is by today's standards. I guess the fact the speedo tops out at 85 MPH really tells you something. And apparantly it's also the reason the movie changed the speedo to a digital one. Kinda hard to bring a time machine up to 88 MPH when it tops out at 85.

But if it wasn't for the Catalytic Converters the car probably wouldn't be AS slow. Still a dog, but it lost a lot of power in the cats.

Maybe.
Getting back to the Car Show. When I watched the Toyotas beat the Ferrari and the DeLorean, I was thinking to myself. Sure the Toyotas may beat them in a race. But there's no coolness factor driving a Toyota Sienna. I'd rather be seen driving the Ferrari or the DeLorean.

I expected more out of that show. Adam Carolla is a geek. He needs to get his teeth fixed & stop wearing those Dollar General Shirts. Get real. Most of the cars they have on there are not affordable to 90% of us out here! Matt Farrah & John Salley are okay...
Just me.
