Dignity Lost?

Dignity Lost?
Did anybody watch this weeks episode of "The Car Show"? Two of my favorite dream cars lost their dignity. They ran a Magnum PI Ferrari against a Toyota Camry in the 1/4 mile and the Ferrari lost. Round two: they ran a Delorean (like the back to the future car) against a Toyota Sienna mini van. The Delorian got its butt kicked big time. But they both got beat by of all things boring Toyota family cars. Please tell me there was some trickery in play there? Even if they did get beat, I still want a Ferrari 308 GTB and a Delorian DMC-12. Some of my ultimate dream cars.

They were pitting OLD cars against NEW cars. First off the old cars just by being old have HP robbed from their engines.
Also, 200HP back then WAS a lot. Nowadays with all the new advances in technology, 200HP is nothing. You can get that from 4 cylinders.

I understand that they compared apples and oranges. If memory serves me correctly the Deloreon runs a stock Volvo V-6 for a power plant but still this is hard to swallow. I would hate to be a Ferrari owner and have to admit I got smoked by a Toyota Camry. Any Camry. That is a sad day.

The Car Show
I don't care for him either. I don't remember all their names. But Adam Corolla doesn't seem like he is all that knowledgeable and a bit sleazy. The guy from the Wall Street Journal seems like a tree hugging stuffed shirt. The basketball guy I never heard of before the show. Other than he can afford to buy an exotic car what does he know about them? That just leaves one guy who seems to be a regular guy that knows cars. Just my opinion. I think they could have done much better with the show. Unless you have a Toyota Camry or a Sienna who cares that it could beat a Ferrari or Deloreon in the 1/4? I would have loved to see a nice piece on either car that involved it history or a lap around a road course or something. The show for the most part is lame.
