Like Rick, I like the Tesla - I wish I could afford it - it's a supercar and it's wicked fast.

you know what the down fall of the electric cars are. the price of the batteries. there more than a new engin built for racing. for a full lithium batteries that the car needs to run with. with my mustang if i go easy with it i get 34 mph with a full built motor with a supercharger. also i get the same mph out of my monte so if i had to chose or only drive one poticular vehicle ang gas was on the way out i would still drive the car with the gas engine because tecnology and tuning can make a gas vehicle get close on what a pure electric car has. on the bright side i would drive the tesla roadster over than the volt. because it is super quick and has a simular styling like the monte's have but not as much room.

Electric cars are a passing fad. Battery technology isn't improving fast enough (or as all) so electrics will always be limited in range and require time to recharge.
Hydrogen Fuel cells will be the way of the future. The will resemble electrics, but with the fuel cell in place of the heavy battery system. Best of all, the provide the performance of gas engines, the zero emissions of electrics and you can "recharge" them by pulling up to the pump and topping off the tanks.
North Vancouver (very hilly) has a bunch of Fuel Cell public buses that seriously outperform the Diesel Buses.

what i was saying is that the batteries have a limited times of recharge after awhile youll have to replace them. with tesla they have the better of the two types of batteries that averege honda uses and what tesla has wich is better but it is very expencive. that is why the tesla is very expencive for the tesla and why the volt and the honda are cheaper. but i do agre that the technolegy was that is not there for the averege person. the type of lithium batteries have two types cheap and the best if you want the best you have to pay for the best. its like optima and regular type of battery would you like a regular type of battery if you have a excellent sound system or would you get the best. its like this you get what you pay for chevy is trying to get the best for the volt but the volt has to take off like the honda has with there hybride's

i wouldent mind goofing off with that volt mpv5 but i doubt that i would drive it on a daily though. because i will miss the pep of my two cars and i will feel like i will betray my monte and my mustang. nothing will tare me from those two unless a tree fals on them and only then i will transplant every thing to a shell for my mustang and get anouther monte i will not betray them.

Think they are probably the best looking electric car, aside from the Tesla that Ted mentione but how many Volts can you buy for the price of a Tesla? I think that is where some problem lies most if not all the "green" cars are butt-ugly. If you make it a nice looking car I think more people would be willing to get one, even with the higher price tag. Just my thoughts, I could be wrong.
