Chevy Equinox

NO!
I told you in your other thread to stay '08+ if you ever look at an Equinox!
That version was trash. Complete and utter trash. The engine is NOT the same 3400, it's a chinese version.
The interior is terrible, if you use cupholders don't even think about trying it in this car. It's like putting your cups on the floor. They aren't comfortable to drive in, they aren't even that good in bad weather. The MPGs are also terrible because that 3400 is trying to hard to move the heavy car.

They started using the 3.6DOHC that is in everything like the new Malibus, the CTS, the new Impala, etc.
In 2008 they changed the suspension a lot, made it a better drive, improved a lot with the traction and overall SUV-like options.
I don't mean to steer away, just really take good looks at it when you go. I have driven my fiance's father's 06 Equinox, and it wasn't good at all. I think I've done maybe 300 miles in it? Never liked it.

I'm not a huge fan of SUV's, primarily for the MPG's and driving experience, but you hinted earlier that your wife may not be the best driver (or just a slow driver, I could've picked up on the wrong thing) so a bigger, safer car could offer you some peace of mind.

It's not that she's a bad driver...just that she has a very heavy foot. So, power isn't an issue for me. I will have to wait until tomorrow to look at it. Apparentley there were a few fisheye's in the paint that they noticed when they went to deliver it..So, it will be in tomorrow morning.
Chibi, thank you for the opinion. I will definitely take these things into consideration when we go look at it. But, ultimately, this is going to be the wife's car. So, final decision is always left with her.
BTW, in comparison to Jester's '05. This one's got 107,000 on the odometer, and they want 10,999 for it. Which is about 500 under NADA's clean retail..
I guess we'll see what happens tomorrow..

Hello... My company car is a 2011 Equinox LT AWD with the 3.1litre powerplant... It's reliable and versatile, we often have our Lab in it and it is very roomy... It drives more like a car than an SUV and after an initial sluggishness at take-off, it then ramps up to speed respectifully... It is definately not great on gas... All in all, I'd give it a 7 out of 10 for this category car in this price range...... Hope this helps,
