Never knew that, but interesting "fun fact" about the car.
The 3rd gen Camaros (82-92) was I think and awesome time for those cars. They looked sharp and I can't speak for everyone, but I was comfortable driving mine and it made me feel happy each time I went for a drive.
Shame about your friend not enjoying his. I can understand limiting when/where you may drive a car that is a "collector" piece. Such as the day my Camaro is road worthy again, due to the work in it and the age, it will not be driven anywhere near a daily BUT I would intend to take it out frequently in the evenings and weekends.
BTW - There is a Camaro from Live Aid that GM donated, it is signed all over by more then 100 entertainers and then clear coated to preserve the signatures. I've seen it in person and I think the price tag because of it's heritage and signatures was like $150,000!!!
That's a car I'd be afraid to take out....
Jason I remember seeing an iroc for the first time to and thinking it was the greatest think ever. A guy I worked with has an iroc convertible with super low miles on it. It's like an 86 or so and he is the 3rd owner. It is fully documented and in collector car condition. It's so clean but he doesn't enjoy it in my opinion because he's afraid to take it out.
