Default call me magyver :)

ok so today i had a interview with fiber, idk if anyone has heard of them but their a big company up in the Nw.so after i got done i went to see my fiance at her work.she said she was thirsty and wanted some gum.so i went to the bank across the street and noticed a sweet smell, and some white smoke very little coming out of the hood.at 1st i didnt think much of it.until i got to the gas station and started driving again.sweet smell white smoke, only be one thing.ANTIFREEZE! so i got the stuff she wanted looked under the hood and got a small hole in the upper radiator hose.was spraying my intake man, dizzy, spark plug wires, the hood, firewall.wasnt big but has some pressure to it.all i had,was gum and electric tape...gum in hole tape it up.now i was about 8-10 miles from home.it held until i got infront of my house.had a empty rockstar can just incase i need to fab up a temp hose fix.and i keep water in our DD family car,she always asked why i need 2 galllons of water in the trunk..all i said was times like this.so thats my excitement today.didnt lose alot of antifreeze but enough to notice.so never underestimate the usage of gum and electric tape..and friends who are to busy to come help, but when they need something who do they call..magyver....call me magyver.lol take care all $25 dollars gets me a new hose and schucks has to order it..WTF is this?

In my old cars i Always had piece of old hose and a couple of hose clamps in the trunk in case I needed a quick repair. sometimes you have to improvise tho whatever it takes to get home safe and sound.

Thats crazy man. I've done crazy stuff like that in the past. I once broke the linkage in one of my cars and found a coat hanger on the floor. 5 mins and i was on my way home. LOL

I once had the throttle cable that runs from the gas pedal to the throttle body break and I replaced it with my shoelace

My brother did something similar with the shoelaces. except it was for the wipers.

He and a friend were driving home in him 64 Impala when the wipers stopped working. The shaft that comes out of the wiper motor broke. They got their shoe laces and tied them to the wipers and while Alex ( my brother ) was driving, the friend moved the wipers blades back and forth.

Haha I think MacGyver and Quantum Leap were my favorite shows in the late 80's - early 90's. They're not that old... well I guess that was 20 years ago...

My wife is 5 years younger then me and I find it funny the things I find that she knows nothing about. We got into watching the boxed set of Star Trek Enterprise a year or so ago (which starred Scot Bakula from Quantum Leap). In one episode, he was taken back in time and was re-living an event and asked the guy that time traveled him how that was, I paused it laughing, looked at my wife and said "He just made a Quantum Leap".
She was confused and I had to explain it to her....
