awesome idea for far in the future!
Just my opinion, but I think un-modded Fiero's may someday be very collectible. My reasoning? They were only made for a few years, and so many of them have either been wrecked, junked, or modified. And the sure-fire way of knowing it'll become a collector's item? It was never marketted or labelled as a collector's edition.
Anything labelled a collector's edition from the factory, almost NEVER becomes a collector's item.

here's another good fiero project idea i found while digging through my dad's old hot rod mag's, this one's from 1999 i think. caddy northstar V8 in two differant fierros.
1987 Pontiac Fiero - Hot Rod Magazine
and i drove past that fiero by work today and saw the rear window is smashed out
probibly ruined the interior.....

That one you drove past sounds like a perfect candidate for a project like this then. Not ruining anything that hasn't already been ruined. This would be a great way to bring it back from it's inevitable meeting with the scrap yard.
What do you guys think about the Factory Five GTM Supercar? The kit is only $20,000. A complete build will probably cost around $70,000 but it goes 0-60 in 3.2 sec! And it looks cooler than any supercar I've seen. It would most likely be more expensive than the Fiero restore, but I'm kindof warming up to the idea of actually building my own car someday.
