i have a traxxas nitro 4-tec with the 2.5 and a stock team losi mini-t thats going brushless soon. i used to have an emaxx, a 1/8th scale nitro buggy with a .26 big block in it, and a t-maxx. new and old one. the t-maxx was probably the worst. the emaxx was pretty quick and had lots of torque and i you had to shift it from 1st to 2nd which was fun. also very durable. the nitro buggy was cheap, fast, and fun, i must have jumped over 25ft high and nothing ever broke on it.

deff. go with electric, for off road, such as a traxxas E-maxx 4wd twin motors, two batteries, lots of part for them. they share parts with the T-maxx and if you want a fun on road car, go nitro, such a the traxxas 4-tec, it has electric start, awd, comes prebuilt, and takes a beating and keeps going. actually traxxas r/c cars are so good and since i've had almost all of them, i would recommend any of them nitro or electric
