I know the 2000 pace car shift boot isn't red. I didn't really care about that though. I figured having the shift boot red, and the **** the stock color, would be different. My overall plan was to eventually have the steering wheel, the shifter, and the seats two-tone black/red. And possibly the door panel inserts.

The seats being the most expensive, would probably have to be done in stages. I need the car as my daily driver. I can drive without a passenger seat or back seat. But when the driver's seat gets done, I'll be without transportation.

Lisa, is the steering wheel grey or white or what color? What ever it is, it looks nice!

It is sand, same color as my tan interior, it just looks lighter than the interior because of the humungous flash reflecting off it last night. I will try to get a day shot today with no flash and add it to my wheelskins thread from today.

The Grand Prix boot is different (at least from '97-'02, not sure about the next generation). I've been researching a shift boot change for myself. It looks like GM used the same shift boot AND same shift **** in the '99+ Grand Ams. I actually have a shift plate with boot from a salvage yard in my garage, held it side by side in the Monte, they look like a direct match (that spare part is to replace one a friend damaged). I used a measuring caliper and the length/width of the base is the same and so is the hole for the shifter.

I'm interacting with a custom boot company that offers boots for the '99+ Grand Am but not the Monte. They are willing to work with me, so at the moment, I am waiting on color samples to arrive in the mail. Once I pull the trigger on this idea, get and install one, I will start a thread on it and share more info.

Chibi has a good idea what I'm up to appearance wise
