...I don't purposely like to hurt any-one's feelings, but ifI had a MX5 (miata), I would not care what other's think of my ride as long as I enjoyed it & was happy with what I was driving..It's nice to have a ride that everyone likes, but I believe what is more important is that the owner/driver is happy with what they sacrificed to buy & drive...

So far from what I'm seeing, the people who are trying to convince me and others that the Miata is not a "girl car" are showing examples of Miata's that have been modded. Like the Miata's that are powered by Jaguar, Corvette, Lexus, etc...
Those look like fun cars. I would drive those in a heartbeat. But they're not really a Miata anymore. I'm talking about a stock Miata from the factory, not modded in anyway.
I don't really like the term "girl car", but that's the term being used before I got into the conversation, so I'm using it also. To be honest, I know some "girls" that wouldn't drive a stock Miata either. They own (and sometimes race) V8 powered Camaros, Mustangs and such.
I'm not looking down on anyone that likes the Miata. If you like it, I'm happy for you. I'm just saying that I probably wouldn't own one myself. It's just not my taste.

They are just simply a joy to drive. They aren't fast in a straight-line and there are plenty of roomier options, but they are just simply a joy to cruise in (and you can go a little faster through a turn than you are comfortable)
