The 1950 Chevy Truck is FINISHED!!!!
Well guys... took 8 months of hard labor but we got it done.
The engine (which I have no pictures of) is a straight 6, a 261 out of a 54-55 Chevy truck. It's more-less all stock. The chrome trim didn't come on them but still....
The paint job.. I've heard some came that way, I've heard none came that way. To me, it's hte only way to go with a '50 Chevy. This is how my Uncle Jerry had it painted and thats how we redid it.
My dad payed $2500 in October to my Uncle Jerry who had the truck since 1990. He did a frame off restoration in 1995-1996 and drove it throuhg 2004. He took it apart again to redo the paint job and tkae some dents out from where he used it as a daily driver and even used it as a truck. WEll it turns out he had a friend who was really a mechanic who came over and did alot for him, and that man died in 2005. The truck was partially assembled. He couldn't get it back together alone ,so he sent it to us at the end of October.
Teh transmission is a 4 speed out of a late 60's car. Teh rear ends a 2:73 and from what our numbers show, came out of a 64-73 Nova.
I drove it to school this past Monday (May 19) and today (May 23). It turns heads everywhere it goes The place it really got attention was at church on Sunday (May 18)
Hope you enjoy the pictures

I'm taking points off for that Vinyl-wrapped Tailgate Chain. I don't remember them being wrapped in clear vinyl back then.
Other than that, I wish you had a few close-up with the front open and showing the engine compartment.

or ya just do like some of the others and take the cahins off and only hang them for shows. I fya dont plan to use the bed at all for anythign that you cant put in over the fender.
we did it with a hidden latch that you could not see in the chains were in there becuse the top eyelet for the chain was the latch so they just looked normal with it hanging there.
But looks nice.
We did that same paint job but it was red and black instead of green and black LOL
those are really neat old truck wish i still ahd the one we did when i was REALY young

Great looking truck Duane! All the time, money, and hard work you guys put into it really shows!
I think I know why you're not showing us the engine though.
You got an LS2 engine and tranny combo in that thing don't ya?
