why will my 95 monte carlo 3.4L not start?
The car had started several times the day before and while I was working on the A/C system I went to start the car and now it won't start. I have tested the battery and it's good and fully charged. The starter motor is getting power and the engine is cranking when attempting to start (drivebelt turns all pulleys and you can hear it cranking). The fuel pump primes when the key is turned to the "on" position. The fuel pressure on the header before the injectors is 42 psig. I tested the low resolution crankshaft position sensor at the ignition connection and while attempting to start, it reads about 700 mV AC (the book says less than 200 means it's bad). I took one of the spark plugs out and checked to see if it got spark while I tried to start it and it did. I was thinking it could be the camshaft position sensor but I'm not sure if that will keep the engine from starting (will it?). Maybe I moved some wires and loosened a connection? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Does it putter at all? a quick start and die or just nothing at all?

Have you had the car scanned for any codes?
Also, make sure the wiring connections on the starter and the batter are free of corrosion. If it's got a bad connection, it may not be getting enough juice.

I did scan it but since I can only turn the engine over Im not sure how much it told me. It did say "no signal" on the camshaft sensor readout but I'm not sure if it should get one if the engine doesn't come on. The connections look good on the starter and battery and the voltage measurements are the same or close to the battery voltage. Thank you all so far for your thoughts.

If it has a code, then I have a feeling that may be part of it. If I understand the ignition systems on these cars right, if it has NO data from the CAM sensor, it will not start. So if you have a code giving that error, I'd get more info on it and start there.

In case anyone else runs into this I got it figured out. I checked the fuel injectors themselves at the connectors and they weren't getting any power. I followed the power back and there was a plug connector that had come loose. This nightmare is over. Thanks again for the suggestions and help.
