These cars don't really gain anything by chipping them. The only way to get a strong performance jump is you'll either need to top swap or turbo it. You can do some supporting mods too, but you're not going to see a big jump in HP unless it's super or turbo charged. A decent CAI, ZZP Downpipe, Rockers, getting a tune, etc. all help though.

 

Ok i understand i need the super or turbocharger but now im not shure what you mean about a tune. do you mean like one of those dioblo's is that a tuner or is that like a chip to.

 

PCM tune. The Performance Control Module (PCM), it tells the car when to shift gears, speed limiter, etc. By getting them tuned it can increase your performance, by shifting better and it unlocks some extra power in the car.

 

Too many vendors are in the business to just take your money and for a high priced piece of junk. It really takes some time to sift through the hype. The best thing you can do is lots of reading, lots of learning, and asking questions. Many of us have wanted to squeak more performance from our rides, so we've got feedback.

As for a chip, nah, once you get to a certain amount of mods (and some may require this), you'll be looking at getting the PCM tuned.
