New member - silver 2001 SS High Sport
Hi Guys, I'm Glen living in Carrollton TX..
We finally stopped having storms here in Dallas so I could wash and shoot my MC. I bought it new 156k daily-driver-never-garaged miles ago. I used to be a member of the 2k Monte Carlo group on Yahoo.
Bone stock except for charcoal grey pinstripes and painted MC scripts. It has Ebony Sport Cloth seats with 6-way power driver's seat and premium sound system with CD & cassette. I purchased and installed the optional 12-disc CD system in the trunk. The hood and front fascia were repainted 10 years ago after a pickup backed into it at the shield emblem. I re-cleared the wheels about 5 years ago.
Repairs have been: replace lower intake gaskets and upper intake after catalytic converter failure (95k), at which time I did the 100k service and replaced the water pump, thermostat, and temp sending unit while I was there. Prior to that, the MAF and ignition switch were replaced by the dealership. I replaced the radiator, hoses, and low coolant sensor (and its wacko again) four years ago. I replaced front struts, rotors/pads, master cylinder, EGR valve, and power steering high pressure hose last year. Rear struts, rotors/pads, parking brake, and bearings are in the garage waiting for time/weather/life to ease up. A worn out driver's seat is also accumulating parts, which I will post about when I'm allowed.
