new member need info on 1986 monte ss

Default new member need info on 1986 monte ss

I am 64 years old Have a 1965 impala ss covert 409 4spd nearly ready to drive and a 1971 chevy cheyenne pickup totally restored and am looking for a a real nice 1985 to 1988 monte ss
I am looking at a 1986 monte ss
This is a low mileage car with ttops It is in very good condition could you a repaint on the lower body
The car does not have a/c Does this drop the valve if so approx how much

Welcome to the site! I don't know how much no ac drops the value, probably a few hondred bucks. But I would love to see some pictures of the 409 Impal! You do not see many of thse any more.

No ac won't hurt it too bad. I've seen a couple of the 83-88 SS factory ordered with ac delete, no power windows, locks, radio etc. if the ac stuff was there but just removed, putting it back isn't a problem.

I will get some pics of my impala on soon I don.t own the 86 monte ss yet
If the monte is a non a/c car can I put factory a/c with out doing any cutting in the fire wall or dash etc

Is there a block off plate or cover on the firewall where the ac stuff goes?
Heck if ya was in the states I'd put ya in a 86 SS aerocoupe, it's got ac and still works r12 too lol
