WOW!!!! That looks awesome!! Put it on MY mod list for sure!! I was wondering what it looked like in red. Its pretty much the same grille as what is on the Tony Stewart edition Monte, but his is obviously all black. And what about removing the Chevy bowtie for an SS badge... or the number 8??

The bowtie is just a decal. The SLP grill has a flat spot that allows the bowtie decal to stick to the grill. A flat spot that the Tony Stewart grill doesn't have.

Not sure if you have the front licence plate filler panel or not. The filler panel on the Dale Jr edition already has an 8 on it. So if you're using the filler panel, putting an 8 on the grill might be too much.

I have seen some people put an SS badge on the grill, and it looks great. The bowtie decal that SLP supplies with the grill isn't installed. You need to peel and stick the bowtie yourself. The bowtie decal seems kinda flimsy to me. To me it looks like the glue would let go in extreme temperatures. But a couple people told me they haven't had a problem with theirs yet. So I don't know.

Welcome to the site. Those are some nice looking cars you got. I am not a Dale Jr. owner but I got something that can compaire. So far performance wise, I have a gutted airbox with k&n filter, Hogan exhaust w/3" dp, ported s/c case w/ 3.4 pulley, zzp pcm, 180 stat, 104 autolites, ported lim. Now...I just need to get afew more parts that are going out and new tires. The stock tires can't hold it now, I will burn them upto about 45 to 55 mph. Stock you should run around 14.5 to 15.5 and with a 3.4 pulley and supporting mods with no knock you should take about .5 to 1 sec off your time depending. But the 3.4 w/pcm and mods really wakes the L67 up.

Also if you know alittle bit about cars you can do some of this stuff yourself and save some money. My airbox was gutted by a friend as well as the lim but I ported the s/c. So about 1k in savings...that is also another idea for you as well.

I do have the front license plate cover TAZ, but here in MN, we have to run both front and rear plates. I ran my '02 LS red Monte with a front cap and finally got busted about a year ago... got away with a warning. I'm not sure if I will run the front "8" cap on the Dale Jr. or not, probably only at car shows. Where are you picking up the front grille, i've only seen them on 3800performance.com??

Thanks for the welcome CC, you have pretty much EVERYTHING in line that I plan on doing... sounds like you have a sweet setup! Do you have any engine pics posted on the site? I'd like to see your gutted airbox, and pulley setup...did you do a modular setup or no? I'm a bit torn with what setup I want to go with, as i like the chorme pulley, but most have said the complete pulley replacement/swap is more efficient...
Not sure when i'll get to even starting to mod the Monte, I'm still working on the other car...

I got mine from eBay. But 3800performance would've been cheaper. I forgot 3800performance had them at the time.

Besides ZZP and 3800performance, where are some good online site stores that offer exclusive parts for the Monte Carlo? I've tried ebay as well, but i'm looking for just a bit more, both performance, exterior and interior wise...

edit: have you checked gmparts direct? I heard they are very slow at getting stuff shipped out, but I also heard that you can get the same exact items ordered at your local chevy dealer?
