Man, don't worry about being a "Fake" LOL. When it comes to cars, the only opinion that counts is yours. If the badges look good on there, and you like them... leave them. If the car is fast enough for you, then that's fine. One thing I have learned it weight lifting is that there is ALWAYS a bigger fish so don't sweat what others are lifting/doing.... just worry about you. Same with cars man, I'm a "car guy" I have rebuilt them, restored them, raced them, owned them, shown them at Good Guys, sold them... I think your car's cool.
Dude, I showed a '69 Z/28 one year that looked like it rolled off a showroom floor (La Mans Blue, white stripes, original everything, gorgeous) days before the show a bolt had fallen down the intake (From where we still don't know, but have a strong suspicion that it was a disgruntled employee) on the original DZ302 mill. Really ****ed up the piston head and the combustion chamber... tore up the intake valve... a disaster. Thing is though we already paid to have the car in the show...
So we call around, call in some favors, and find a guy with a mild build on a Chevy 350. Hasn't run it in an actual car yet, but it works fine and being an SBC mill, it will bolt right in, we can even use our carb and the 302's aluminum manifold, headers (iirc) and air cleaner and all that crap. We spend the day doing the swap, get the car running, get it all timed etc... Long story short, we bring it to the show, and every single swinging dick that sees the engine says the same thing "Another faker with a 350" or "Hey man, this doesn't have the double hump heads" or "You know this isn't a real 302 right?"... And my response? "Well yeah Mother F&*#ers we know, we put it in there... oh and by the way... what car are you showing today?".
The point of my long winded story is this, the world (And any hobby really) is full of asswagons who all wanna talk your stuff down. But F&^% 'em.
Oh, welcome to the forum from a guy jellous that you even HAVE a car you can toy with.

^^^Yea, i guess ur right.
And when i was at the car-wash vacuuming the interior, a young fella(my age) noticed them Sig' Series emblems, and thought it had a corvette engine in it.
Either way, its an eye-catcher, and if asked, i'll just say, "Some jack-off put those on before i even bought it."
Maybe i over-reacted, but over the summer, i was telling ppl it was a Sig' Series.
Now on to cosmetic work...
