Hey there fellow monte owners..i just bought a 1985 monte carlo 350 ss..this is my first car i bought..im 16 and yet to get my license..in 3 months hopefully..i started out working on my dads 67 chevelle and fell in love with the classic cars..so today i went to go look at a 85 monte..it needs some work...but i bough it for 800 and im hoping to make it a project for me and my dad..there is really nothing wrong with the car..just that both doors and quarter panels are rusty..if anyone knows where to get new doors from give me a holler..other wise i couldnt find a book in yearone and i did order a book from opgi..im hoping i can find a door there..but if anybody wants to help me out and has a door in good condition or knows where i can get one that would be great..before i bought the monte the owners before me had it as a project car and put a new set of headers and an exaust in it...sounds really nice ...the engine was taken from a truck..its a 350..but the car is an original 350 ss..im hoping to fix it up so i can drive it to car shows and all that with my father..its nice for a kid to say that his first car was a 1985 monte carlo ss..here are some pics i took today..i have yet to pick it up..hope you enjoy..thanks a lot

Welcome to the forum. That's a hot ride. You'll be the envy of the mallrats once you have finished. I love that generation of monte...my dad had an '87.

Nice Monte, it reminds me of my '86 Regal. That car was a dream. Unfortuntely I lost it in a divorce. Not long after that it was stolen. Can hardly wait to see you fix it up. We didn't get many SS packages for that year here in L.A.

Mallet,
I'm not sure where your located but this ebay ad is from a guy in NY he has driver and passenger side door but its pickup only (seperate auctions). Even if you cant get them keep an eye on the auction to give you an idea what these doors go for.

BTW I dont think you could have found a better deal on the monte, good job!!!
