Yup the cars gauges are all metric which makes it one of 706 exported to Canada
Got everything done and hooked up tonight other then the wide open exhaust LOL.
Took her for my very first 3.8L turbo test drive.... I have only 2 words to describe this cars performance... Holy and Crap!!
I pulled up at a set of lights beside a brand new mustang gt... he revved a few times so i was game.... light turns green and he gets about 20-30ft ahead of me so i bury the pedal into the floor and hear the 4bbls open up... turbo starts to spool and all of the sudden BAMMMM full on boost is holding my **** into the back of the seat like my old S10 did with a 400sbc in it. Goes without saying.. I whooped his Ford *** bad!!
Good god this car is gonna be sweeeeeet when it's actually tuned up... hell the plugs have been in there for 10yrs and the cats plugged and she still goes like a stuffed pig [sm=gears.gif][sm=gears.gif]

706 was for 1980 model year. I bet it was even less than that for 81's . Would not be supprised if it was in the 150 - 200 range.
Im trying to link you to stuff but getting a forbidden msg.
Go to my cardomain site > pg 3 .. halfway down is a gm document.
Also while your there, look in my fav links > before black > Turbo V6 Production Figures . you will be suprised. No mention on exports figures but just figured the ratio of the '80 LC8 production figures lead me to the approx #'s for '81 I mentioned above.

Funny thing is I found your car domain page before I even joined this group..lol
I wish there was more info on this car on the web :-(
The Grand National had the same block but I think the turbo setup was different with the turbo on the pass side (same as this) but closer to the nose of the car and it had fuel injection... correct me if im wrong of course.
I'm tryin to figure out how i can add an intercooler to this turbo setup but there really isn't a "safe" way to do it with a draw-through type turbo setup.
Anyone have any informative links on Alky-Injection?
I think I figured out how and where to hook a boost gauge up... there's a little air line coming off the turbos nozzle that goes into the intake, not sure where it goes yet but i'll find the end and T it so i can add a gauge.
Anyone know hwo much boost they ran stock? I've looked everywhere but can't find numbers.
Good thing the car came with a spare BOP style turbo 350 trans.. this one slips when driving normal but is fine when you thrash on it... could be the pump but i have a spare so i'll just swap it out and add a stage 2 shift kit while im at it... muhahaha.
