My wife and I just picked up a one owner 2007 Monte Carlo SS this week for a weekend cruiser. Based on the build date it is one of the last Monte Carlos built having a build date of 6/07. It has the harmonic balancer wobble, and that needs to be replaced before driving it. Having owned several Pontiac Grand Prixs with 3.8 N/A or L67, one Buick Regal GS, and a 09 Pontiac G8 GT 6.0, and over 20 LT1 powered B-bodies, this combo of LS power in W-body platform seems crazy, but it works well. Our plan is to restore it back to as close to original as possible, including painting both sides, and bumper covers, replacing the driver, and passenger seat bottom skins, and cleaning it up. Other than that, just enjoying it. We are fairly sure it is fully loaded with convenience package sunroof, leather, 6 disk cd changer, upgraded speakers, and factory amp, polished wheels, and SS stripes. The build date does have me curious how close to the end of production, and the last two cars this one is.

 

Welcome to MCF! You have quite the head-turner, there.... Mine was also close to the end of the line... Produced 21 days before production ended, is what GM told me. I don't know what it's like where you are, but down here I can't go anywhere without people wanting to talk about the car..... Which would be cool if I weren't an introvert and don't really care to talk to every Tom, Dick, & Harry around, lol.....

Welcome to the MCForum, nice ride thee is one very similar to that in my home town but it is Red and has the white stripes. Some lady drives it and she looks way older that me. Lol

 

Well you can't be to much of an introvert when you are active on here. I was like that back in my youth and then several girls I dated and the U S ARMY changed all that. Lol
Then when I got home I worked for a company as a delivery driver and my first time out on a 2K route the first to places didn't want the stuff anymore, so I called in and the boss said sell it. So I really had to or work around the stuff all thru the route. I sold it and also collected the payment for ever stop along the way, no other driver had ever done that.
So I got to do it alot more.
Back in the 90's I couldn't get away with anything because of the #3 thing.
People stop me all the time even on vacation and want to talk racing and all. I wonder why?
