New Guy!
Hey all, new guy here! I don't own a Monte Carlo yet, but grew up with them, remembering when I was a kid my parents had a 1970, 1972, and a few others from the late 70s and 80s. Awesome cars, and they will always be with me in my memory even though they are no longer in the driveway. But there is a 2004 Monte Carlo SS and a 2006 Monte Carlo SS at this time.
I'm thinking of buying the '06 from my stepdad to help him get through a tough financial situation. He's retired, on Social Security, etc., and only needs one car. The '06 is black/black with the sweet V8 and is definitely a looker. It's got a couple of door dings and a tiny bit of rust in the wheel wells, but other than that is in nice shape. It just needs a battery to get it back on the road!
I'll be looking through the forum here to see all the cool pics and look at the tech stuff as well.
Looking forward to learning more about these great cars!

Thanks for all the welcomes! Let me add a bit more about myself (as suggested by the forum):
My first name is Steve, I'm 50 years old, I grew up in a family that had a lot of Montes, but don't have a Monte (yet). When/if I get one it will be a 2006 Monte SS (see my original posting in this thread).
More about me: I'm a computer/technology consultant (not a geek!), have lived in Houston for the last 16 1/2 years. Moved here for a job after growing up and living most of my life near Boston. I'm a sports fan, love my Red Sox and Bruins, and am about 60/40 for the Texans and Patriots - in that order. I play golf, ice hockey, and softball here in Houston. (Yes, they play ice hockey in Houston!)
If anyone has any questions, don't be afraid to ask!
As far as the site goes, I'm going to be looking at the pictures, and possibly for ideas about how to keep up and fix the '06 if it ever finds itself in my garage. First thing I'd like to do is set it up with Sirius/XM to satisfy my NFL addiction (Sirius channel 88) and maybe hook up occasionally with local Monte Carlo enthusiasts to check out and talk about our cars and whatever else is going on.
I also like motorcycles, not the Harley/street rod types, but the Adventure Touring bikes. I currently have a 2012 Yamaha Super Tenere, which I wish I could ride more, but the summer heat here doesn't really cooperate.
So thanks again for the welcomes, and looking forward to chatting with y'all!
Cheers,
Steve
