Another new SS guy here!
Well, yesterday I pulled the trigger and bought that 2000 Monte Carlo SS! She is a real peach, isn't perfect and needs a few cosmetic things, but nothing major. I drove it 400 miles back home yesterday and it ran and handled like a dream on the road. I am not essentially new to Monte Carlos, I had a '74 Monte with a 454 big block (Miss her!!) a few years back that I just loved. This car is like a more modern version of that, obviously not as powerful, (but gets WAYYY better gas mileage!) but is a very nice riding, tight, road-hugging car just like my '74 was. Car has leather interior, the heated seats work, A/C still blows ice cold. Transmission definitely needs a flush and I will be doing that over the next week or so. Anyway, enough of my chattering, here are some of the current pics I've taken thusfar! Very excited to be back into the Monte Carlo club again! Been quite a long hiatus..

More pics of the car I took today after giving her a bath!
The love of my life posing in the front seat of the car! She's not a fan of the red, but digs everything else about it!
Also got plates and everything for it as well as insured today. Made an extra set of keys. Tomorrow I plan to pull it into my shop, get it up on the hoist and flush out the tranny and change the tranny fluid as well as give her an oil change. Just go over everything and basically give it a 14 point inspection while I got it in the air.
I'm from Montana. Will fill out my profile soon!

This was the '74 I had a few years back. Sure do miss her! Had 76k original miles, original interior, new paint and vinyl top. The 454 big block was a virgin, still had all the original smog equipment in working condition, and even the 8 track stereo worked! Letting go of this car wasn't one of my better ideas..I just hope whoever got it didn't ruin it's pristine beauty!
Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone!
